Dear Colleagues & Students,
For 2025–2026, our free online seminar series, which we take great pleasure in holding every year, focuses on the main theme of “Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy: Theory and Clinical Practice.”
The Masterson Approach grounds its psychoanalytic psychotherapy work in the disorders of the self. It conceptualizes the healthy self, disorders of the self, and personality disorders in terms of intrapsychic structures.
In this context, it defines three distinct forms of self and pathology—borderline, narcissistic, and schizoid—and structures treatment through three distinct clinical interventions, one for each structure. We will also hold seminars on the neurobiology of psychotherapy.
We wish to come together to discuss the theoretical and clinical dimensions of the psychoanalytic psychotherapies, to share emerging perspectives, and to bring to light the implicit traces of neuropsychology, character formation, and the context of language and meaning in relational existence. As we share our experiences, we place particular importance on offering new perspectives to colleagues who are just starting out in the profession.
Our seminars will begin on November 24, 2025, and in the first session Dr. Meral Aydın will present ‘Dynamics of Masterson Couples Therapy.’ The session will be held via Zoom at 8:00 p.m.
Starting in November, for eight months, our seminars will be held on the third Monday of each month, and you can find the speakers and topics in the program schedule below.
Our seminars are free of charge, and we would be delighted to see you among us.
