MASTERSON INSTITUTE READING GROUP SERIES - FEBRUARY SESSION
Led by Clinical Psychologist Hasan Turgut Erdoğan
“The Undiscovered Self” – Carl Gustav Jung
READING ANALYST: Clinical Psychologist Hasan Turgut Erdoğan
BOOK OF THE MONTH
The February session of the Masterson Institute Turkey Reading Group Series will focus on Carl Gustav Jung’s book “The Undiscovered Self.”
The Undiscovered Self is one of Carl Gustav Jung’s important texts, focusing on the individual’s inner world and particularly on core concepts such as the shadow, the persona, the archetypes, and the process of individuation. Jung emphasizes that understanding a person’s relationship with the unconscious lies at the heart of the path to psychological wholeness. In explaining why confronting the aspects of the self that remain in darkness is a transformative process, the book draws on Jung’s clinical observations as well as on mythological and cultural analyses. The Undiscovered Self is both a profound and a guiding resource for anyone wishing to step into Jung’s world of thought.
